PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to run in Oklahoma, Garth Kasiner took to Port City Raceway on Friday and Saturday night as he competed in both the A-Class and Outlaw Class divisions during Spring Fling Weekend.

Friday night in A-Class action, Kasiner would line up in the second row of his heat race. Having some trouble in his heat, Kasiner would be forced into the semi where he lined the West Hills Oil/CS9/SRP backed entry up in the ninth starting position.

From the back, a lightning fast surface would make passing difficult but Kasiner still tried to make something happen as he searched both high and low. Sitting seventh when a late yellow flew, Kasiner would have one final shot to try and crack the Top-Three and move on.

When the semi resumed, Kasiner would go up top to try and make something happen but he would end up losing a position and finishing eighth in the semi.

In Outlaw Class action, Kasiner would draw well as he line up on the front row of his heat race. Having some help in the early goings, Kasiner would do a 360 in turns three and four as he slipped back to eighth where he would go on to finish.

From the back of the semi, Kasiner would turn in some very nice laps, but a tough night would come to a close with him unable to transfer into the feature.

Looking to rebound on Saturday night, Kasiner would grid the field from the seventh starting position in his A-Class heat race. In a fast paced heat, Kasiner would pick up a position as he finished sixth but on this night would still be forced into the semi.

Lining the Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels machine up in the fourth row of the semi, Kasiner would get a great start that saw him grab a couple of positions. Working his way up to fifth, Kasiner would chase after a transfer spot but would come up short as his weekend in the ‘A’ Class came to an end.

Outlaw Class action saw the Five Points, CA driver have a great run as he advanced from his fifth starting position to score a second place finish and punch his ticket directly into the feature event.

Lining up ninth in the ‘A’, Kasiner would endure a sluggish start to the race that saw a couple of early stoppages slow the early flow. Under green flag conditions, the youngster would hammer the cushion as he ran inside the Top-10 and mixed it up some with of the regions top competitors.

As the race got into an extended green flag run, Kasiner would continue to run well, though he would fall out of the Top-10 and run in the 13th position when the caution again flew around the halfway point.

Continuing to hammer the top, Kasiner would creep back towards the Top-10, until a couple of drivers spun in front of him and with nowhere to go he would get involved in the tangle.

The damage would prove to be too severe and Kasiner’s night would come to a premature end.

Garth Kasiner would like to thank West Hills Oil, CS9, Security Race Products, Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto & Air, Irritec P1 Drip Tape, Keizer Wheels, Factory Kahne, Kasiner Farms Inc., B&B Ag Transport LLC, Superior, Soil Supplements, Simplot, and Fresno Equipment Company for their support.
