Sean Becker 14th at Super Dirt Cup

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though the first two nights of the Jim Raper Super Dirt Cup didn’t go as planned for Sean Becker, the Roseville, CA driver made the most of his Saturday night as he transferred from the ‘B’ and finished 14th in the 40-lap feature event.

“I am extremely grateful for my entire team working hard with me, and getting us better each time we hit the track,” Sean Becker said. “I didn’t do a great job Thursday and Friday, but Saturday night we found our way and had a really good finale.”

On the heels of the Fastest 5 Days in Motorsports Speedweek, Becker and the Bjork Motorsports team checked in at Skagit Speedway over the weekend for the prestigious Super Dirt Cup event.

Having a tough couple of preliminary night showings, Becker finished 9th and 13th in the ‘B’ Main each night, and found himself deep in a Saturday night qualifier.

Lining up seventh in his qualifier, Becker finished in the sixth position and lined up seventh in the Saturday night ‘B’ with six transfer berths up for grabs.

Once the ‘B’ went green, Becker came to life. Working his way by some tough cars, ‘The Shark’ worked his way into third and was solidly in the 40-lap Super Dirt Cup feature event.

Making a couple adjustments following the ‘B’, Becker hit the Skagit Speedway surface where he took the green flag from the 23rd starting position. On the extremely fast racing surface, Becker worked his way into 21st, until a restart after an open red saw him race into 19th.

Looking even better following the open red period, Becker moved into 16th a lap later and was into 15th at the race’s halfway point.

Continuing to pick up spots, Becker moved into 14th on the 23rd lap as he found himself battling with the likes of Dominic Scelzi and Danny Sams.

In close quarters racing action, Becker battled hard with some stiff competition in the closing laps as he went on to bring his Super Dirt Cup to a close with a 14th place finish.

“We passed some really good cars in the feature event, and made some good forward progress,” Becker said. “I was really glad we could have a good finale after a couple of rough prelim nights.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-21, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 3, Top-10’s- 11

ON TAP: Becker and the Bjork Motorsports team return to action on 7/12 in Petaluma, CA.
