Sean Becker 2nd in Final NARC Points With 9th Place Finish During Season Finale
PETERSEN MEDIA- Though he wasn’t able to celebrate with the NARC Championship on Saturday night after a very close battle with DJ Netto, Sean Becker was able to sit back and reflect on a very strong season with Bjork Motorsports as he closed the season out with a ninth-place finish.
“We had a great opportunity to race for the NARC title on Saturday night, but I just didn’t get us timed in good enough, and the rest of the night proved to be too tough to pass,” Sean Becker said.
With 22 cars on hand and a 12 point deficit sitting between himself and point leader, DJ Netto, Becker got the night underway by timing in 10th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race on a very hooked up and fast Stockton Dirt Track, Becker settled into fourth when the race came to life. Holding down fourth, the track proved to be too fast to make up any ground as his fourth place finish placed him 11th on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature event.
Working into the Top-10 when the race came to life, Becker withstood a couple of early restarts before the race got into rhythm. Battling between ninth and 10th all race long, Becker saw his hopes for a title slip away with each lap as Netto continued to run ahead of him.
With the track staying extremely quick for the duration of the main event, Becker ultimately stalled out in ninth, where he went on to finish and officially took second place in the final NARC standings.
“I am bummed I wasn’t able to get the Bjork team the wins it deserved, but we had a ton of fun together and competed very well against some of the best teams in the country,” Sean Becker added. “It’s a great dynamic and I am very proud to be a part of this group.”
