PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the seat of the Monhoff Racing No. 35 on Sunday night in Marysville, CA, Sean Becker had a strong showing that culminated with a fourth-place finish in the Hall Memorial feature event.

“I am really thankful that Dan Monhoff worked so hard to get a car back together after the adventure we had during our last outing,” Sean Becker said in reference to the wild accident he had in Placerville, CA at the SCCT opener.

With 27 cars checked into the pit area for the Mel and Marlynn Hall Memorial, Becker timed in fifth fastest in time trials after going out right in the middle of the session.

Taking the green flag for his heat race from the pole, Becker got the jump and never looked back. Picking up the win, ‘The Shark’ not only locked himself into the 30-lap feature event, but also earned a spot in the Dash.

Lining up fourth in the Dash, Becker’s third place finish put him in the second row of the $5000-to-win feature event. When the race came to life, Becker settled into fourth where he spent a large portion of the race.

Despite numerous restarts, Becker was able to hold the status quo as he chased after the likes of Chance Grasty, Andy Forsberg, and Colby Copeland. As the laps clicked off, Becker closed in on Copeland for the final spot on the podium as he ran just ahead of him.

Simply running out of time, Becker capped the night off with a fourth-place finish.

“We had a ton of speed, and it was great to be up front and contending for a win,” Sean Becker said. “There were some times that I needed to be a lot more aggressive to advance a few more spots, but it was a good Top-Five.”
