Sean Becker Runs Second at Marysville Raceway’s Spooktacular
PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard Dan Monhoff’s No. 35 entry on Saturday night, Sean Becker went to work against his good buddy, Andy Forsberg, in the feature event and ultimately came up short as he finished second at Marysville Raceway’s Spooktacular.

“I felt like we had good speed all night long, and I really felt the best in the feature,” Sean Becker said. “Unfortunately, it took just a little too much time for me to make my way to the front because once I got into second and things seemed like they might get interesting, the race ended.”

With 24 cars checked into Marysville Raceway’s pit area for the track’s final event of the 2024 season, Becker got the night off to a solid start as he timed in fourth fastest which put him in the second row of his heat race.

With the strong qualifying position, the Roseville, CA driver simply needed to finish inside the Top-Four to earn a berth in the redraw, and he did just that as he finished third.

A tough draw saw Becker pull the seven which put him in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event. When the race went green, Becker did all he could to get to the front in a hurry. On a two groove track, Becker searched both high and low as he picked cars off.

Into fifth on the ninth lap, Becker continued to fight hard as he was in to fourth with just 10-laps left in the race. Making a big move to work into second with just eight laps to go, Becker turned his attention to Forsberg who had just worked his way into the race lead.

Closing in on Forsberg, tracking looked to be on the horizon but as the leaders closed in on the back of the field the white flag flew.

Not quite able to get to Forsberg in the final pair of laps, Becker capped his Saturday night off with a runner up finish.

“This is a race that we have done well at the last few years, and I am happy to get another good finish at with Dan Monhoff,” Becker said. “As long as he doesn’t find anything wrong this week, the plan is to try again this weekend in Stockton, CA.”

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-38, Wins-1, Top 5’s- 13, Top-10’s- 25
