Sean Becker Scores Top-10 at Forni/Humphreys Classic
PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing back aboard Dan Monhoff’s No. 35 on Saturday night in Placerville, CA for the Forni/Humphreys Classic, Sean Becker made a nice charge through the field and ultimately took the checkered flag with a ninth place finish.
“It felt great getting back in Dan Monhoff’s car on Saturday night,’ Sean Becker said, ‘I felt right at home in the seat, and everything was very familiar which is a good feeling.”
A total of 35 cars showed up for the track’s final sprint car race of the season that offered a robust $10,085-to-win, and Becker got the action kicked off by timing in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Roseville, CA driver settled into fourth when the race came to life. Holding onto fourth during the eighth lap heat, Becker locked into the 30-lap finale as he took the green flag from the 15thstarting position.
When the feature event came to life, Becker was mired in heavy traffic as he was back in 14th for the first five circuits. Moving into 12th, Becker into 11th on ninth lap and into the Top-10 by the race’s halfway point.
Getting into eight, Becker found himself in a very exciting battle for position with Andy Forsberg and Dylan Bloomfield.
Continuing to battle hard with the laps clicking down, Becker moved into ninth for good on the 22nd lap. Keeping the spot in the final laps, Becker capped off his charge from 15th as he and Dan Monhoff now turn their attention to Petaluma Speedway for this Saturday’s Adobe Cup.
“We raced really well in the feature, and we were able to move forward,” Becker added. “I just need to do a better job in time trials to help our starting position next time.”
