PETERSEN MEDIA- Meeting up with High Limit Racing over the weekend in Wheatland, MO, Ashton Torgerson and the Shark Racing team made all three feature events with the series as Friday night’s sixth place finish highlighted the triple header.

“It was a solid weekend for us to continue to compete with some of the best, and make all three features,” Ashton Torgerson said. “We are continuing to progress as a team, and I feel like I am getting better each night as a driver as I continue to learn so many new tracks.”

Kicking the week off on Thursday night at the ‘Diamond of Dirt Tracks’ for the series’ Midweek Money show, Torgerson time din 18^th fastest in time trials before finishing seventh in his heat.

Outside of a transfer, the Glendale, AZ driver was in the ‘B’ where a front row starting position put him in a prime spot to transfer into the feature event. Getting the jump when the green was displayed, Torgerson was able to pocket the win and move into the feature event where he took the green from 19^th.

Getting some forward momentum built up early in the race, Torgerson closed in on the Top-10 as he worked his way into 12^th at the race’s halfway point.

Battling between 12^th and 13^th the next few laps, Torgerson’s night came to end with a cut tire on the 20^th lap while running in 12^th.

Back in action on Friday night with the series, Torgerson got off to a much better start as he timed in third quickest in his qualifying flight before racing to a heat race win and locking into the Dash.

Spinning the low number for the Dash draw, Torgerson led the field to green in the Dash and picked up the win. Sitting on the pole for the 30-lap feature, Torgerson got the initial jump and led the first seven laps as he felt immense pressure from Tyler Courtney and Rico Abreu.

On the eighth lap Torgerson gave up the top spot to Courtney before losing a spot to Abreu two laps later.

Setting into third, Torgerson did give up a couple of positions in the closing laps as he took the checkered flag with a sixth place finish.

Saturday night’s Diamond Classic finale saw the youngster time in 11^th fastest in time trials before scoring the fifth and final transfer position out of his heat race.

Lining up 14^th on the starting grid in the feature event, Torgerson battled between 11^th and 14^th all race long. Going back and forth with some of the series’ best, Torgerson closed the weekend out with a 13^th place finish and he and the Shark Racing team will join PA Speedweek this Wednesday night.
