Strong 2024 Season Nets Braden Chiaramonte Rookie of the Year Honors with Sprint Car Challenge Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA: Braden Chiaramonte is no stranger to dirt ovals. Cutting his teeth in the micro sprint ranks, the youngster from Southern California has turned his attention to Sprint Cars over the last few seasons, and in 2024 he had a breakout season as he raced to his first career USAC/CRA feature event win as well as his first Sprint Car Challenge Tour win and earned SCCT Rookie of the Year honors.

Making the decision to compete as regularly as possible with USAC/CRA in his family car in 2024, as well as making a full run at the Sprint Car Challenge Tour slate with Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Chiaramonte showcased immense versatility bouncing between winged and non-winged sprint cars.

While competing in Northern California in winged action with Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Chiaramonte not only was the series’ standout rookie, who was in the championship hunt for much of the season until a mechanical failure at a show with a robust field essentially took him out of contention.

Running in 30 winged shows over the course of the 2024, Chiaramonte pocketed 11 Top-10 finishes of which six of those were Top-5’s and one was a win, in what was undoubtedly his best performance of the year.

While in SCCT action at Antioch Speedway, Chiaramonte endured an engine failure during heat race competition, and with is team able to make a swap he was able to tag the rear of the field for the feature event.

Seeing the track for the first time on this night, Chiaramonte attacked it like a seasoned veteran as he carved his way from the back of the pack and went on to score the win in convincing fashion.

Putting together a strong season with the SCCT, Chiaramonte not only earned Rookie of the Year honors, but ended the season second in the championship standings.

Despite having a few rough nights in non-winged action around his native Southern CA, Chiaramonte was able to breakthrough and score a win in August when the series checked in at Santa Maria Speedway.

In what was just his seventh career start with the series, Chiaramonte left no doubt on that night as he lined up on the front row of the feature event and led every lap to score the big win.

Chiaramonte’s accolades in 2024 fill in what has been a strong career to date. He was able to add to his 2021 Minnesota Lightning Sprint Speedweek Championship, his 2023 KKM Giveback Classic prelim win and runner up finish in Micro Sprint action, as well as being one of only two drivers to lock into three feature events at the 2025 Tulsa Shootout.

With the 2025 season on the horizon, Chiaramonte will look to continue to add to his resume. With plans not fully finalized, he is hoping to run a similar slate of races as he did in 2024- focusing on winged and non-winged sprint cars, and mixing some micro races in as openings arise.
