Tanner Carrick Opens 2025 in Chili Bowl B Main
PETERSEN MEDIA: With all eyes in motorsports locked on the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK last week, Tanner Carrick brought his 2025 campaign to life as he finished 11th in his preliminary night feature event before capping his week off in the Saturday night ‘B’ Main.
“It is hard to be disappointed in a B Main performance at the Chili Bowl with so any good cars and drivers in the building, but luck just wasn’t quite on our side this year,” Tanner Carrick said. “We had a super fast car, and definitely a car capable to be in the Saturday night feature but we just came up short.”
Kicking things off during Monday night’s Chili Bowl Nationals opener, Carrick lined the CA Wafterfowl/Taylor Morrison Homes/Toyota backed No. 98K entry up seventh in his heat race.
On the racy bullring, the Lincoln, CA driver had his elbows up as he earned crucial passing points en-route to a third-place finish.
Sitting fourth in points after heat races, Carrick took the green from the third row of his qualifier and continued to flex his muscle as he looked to lock into the Saturday night feature event.
Charging from sixth to first, Carrick did all he could leading up to the feature as he sat second in points and found himself on the front row of the feature event, where the top two finishers would punch their tickets into the feature event.
Lining up alongside Shane Golobic, Carrick settled into second as the feature event came to life. Pacing Golobic, behind the lead duo action was heating up as Cannon McIntosh was soon hot on Carrick’s tail.
As the race drew on, Carrick slipped back to fourth as he battled with the likes of Golobic, McIntosh, and Ashton Torgerson as Kyle Larson then poked his nose into the battle.
As the race drew on contact to Carrick’s right rear from another car changed the handling of his car and he slowly slipped back as he held on to finish 11th, which put him in a Saturday night ‘C’.
Waiting out the duration of the week, Carrick finally was able to return to action on Saturday night as his quest for a Golden Driller began in the ‘C’.
Lining up sixth in the ‘C’, Carrick was able to race his way into a transfer position as his third place finish advanced him into the ‘B’ as he had one final opportunity to lock into the feature event.
Lining up 18th in the semi, Carrick just could not get going as he looked for a way to the front. Stuck in dense traffic for the duration of the 20-lapper, Carrick brough his week to a close finishing 19th in the ‘B’.
“We were in a great spot in our prelim feature to lock into Saturday’s ‘A’, but we got in a bad spot and then put ourselves in a hole for Saturday,” Carrick said. “KKM brough a ton of cars to the building, so big thanks to the guys for busting their butt’s and putting fast cars on track all week.”
Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, California Waterfowl, Interstate Oil, D.R. Horton, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Hanson Truss, TC Guide Service, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.
