Tanner Holmes 11th with High Limit Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA- Heading to ‘sin city’ over the weekend to race with High Limit Racing during their 2025 season opening event, Tanner Holmes and Tarlton Motorsports showed good speed and the ability to pass cars as Holmes finished 11th in the feature despite dealing with a couple of tire issues.
With 38 cars checked into the pit area for the series’ season opening event in what will be their second full national slate, Holmes timed the Tarlton and Son Inc./American Rock and Rent/Executive Auto Sales backed no. 21 mount in seventh fastest in his qualifying flight.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Jacksonville, OR native settled into fourth when the race went green on the extremely fast and heavy racing surface that was offered up to the teams after rain fell in the area Thursday and Friday.
Finishing fourth, Holmes was solidly locked into the 30-lap feature event as he took the green flag from the 13th starting position.
From the seventh row, Holmes was able to jump into the Top-10 in the first few laps, as he got into ninth on the third lap. Running in 10th on lap nine, a flat tire forced him to slow to a stop and make a trip to the work area to get a fresh tire bolted on his mount.
Making the call to restart, Holmes took the green form the 21st position and show cased a strong car underneath him as he again began working his way towards the Top-10. Into 15th in just four laps, Holmes continued to make up ground as the laps clicked off.
Getting into 13th on the 24th lap, Homes cracked the Top-10 again on the 28th lap but as fate would have it another flat tire saw him hang on to finish 11th when the wild 30-lapper came to a close.
Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Tarlton and Son Inc., American Rock and Rent, Executive Auto Sales, Durst, Tarlton Estate and Asset Management, Bandy and Associates, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, Willwood Brakes, Vortex Wings, and High Performance Lubricants for their support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 4, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 1, Top 10’s: 1.
