Colby Copeland and C&M Motorsports Kick 2026 Off In AZ
PETERSEN MEDIA- After a strong showing at the 2025 Trophy Cup, C&M Motorsports and Colby Copeland have joined forces for much of the 2026 season and over the weekend the action came to life as they made the trip to Central AZ Raceway to take on the ASCS National Tour.
“It was great to get our season kicked off, and I am really excited to work with the C&M Motorsports team in 2026,” Colby Copeland said.
Getting the action kicked off on Saturday night, Copeland timed the NOS Energy Drink/Lund Construction/Anrak backed No. 7C in third fastest in his qualifying flight.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Roseville, CA driver got the jump as he powered into the early lead. Keeping the rest of the field at bay, Copeland picked up the win and punched his ticket into the nightly Dash.
Starting and finishing second in the Dash, Copeland was on the front row of his first feature event of the season. When the race went green, Copeland settled into second as he fended off Justin Peck in the early stanzas and kept his other eye on early leader, Matt Covington.
Slipping back to third on the 10th lap as Peck was able to get by him, Copeland still looked very strong as he kept the C&M Motorsports mount in the hotly contested battle up front. On the 17th lap however, Copeland began to lose power, and on the 18th lap his night came to an early end.
Making repairs during the day on Sunday, the team was back in action Sunday night to cap off their 2026 opening weekend.
Timing in fifth fastest in his group on Sunday, Copeland’s fourth place finish in his heat race put him in the eight row of the 30 lap feature event.
Mired in traffic for much of the race, Copeland was able to make some headway as he worked his way towards the Top-10. Slicing and dicing his way around the Central AZ Raceway, Copeland capped the weekend off with an 11th place finish.
“We did have some bugs slow us a little in our first weekend out, but it was also the first time this team has seen the track, so in the big picture I was pleased with how it went,” Copeland added. “Big thanks to Cody and Mandi for putting together a cool schedule with me, and thanks to everyone that supports the No. 7C.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank NOS Energy Drink, Lund Construction, Anrak, Sam Rhodes, MatriScope, Alturas Tires, Swartz Diesel, Adrian Blanco Jewelry, Kings Meats, American Paving Systems, PT Shocks, Creason Enterprises, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
ON TAP: C&M Motorsports and Colby Copeland return to action March 21st at Placerville Speedway.
