PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, a heat race wreck would prove costly for Andy Gregg as he would be unable to make the call for the feature event. Putting a rough night behind him, Gregg and his Russell Motorsports team are now set for the 2015 Gold Cup.
“Our night got off to a great start, but unfortunately we were involved in a heat race wreck, and we thought we had everything fixed, but we realized we had a steering box issue heading out to the feature event, so our night came to an early close,” Gregg said. “My guys worked hard to get it fixed, and it was unfortunate we did not get to race, but I really appreciate all of their efforts.”
With a rough night in their rear view mirror, Gregg and company are now set for three nights of action at the Silver Dollar Speedway this week, as the take part in the 62nd Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions opening up on Wednesday night.
“I am really excited to get up to Chico this week, and am thankful that Scott and Kami Russell are allowing us to compete in one of the biggest weeks of the year,” Gregg said. “I have had success at this race in the past and am looking to duplicate that this year.”
