PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing in a pair of 360ci races over the weekend, Mason Moore piloted his Mason Moore Racing No. 22 machine to a fifth place finish on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway before climbing back aboard the F&F Racing No. x1 machine on Saturday night and finishing fifth during the Placerville Speedway’s regular season opener.

“We are making progress in both cars, and it is showing with our finishes,” Moore said. “We picked up a couple of Top-10’s two weekends ago, and this weekend it is two Top-Fives.”

Taking part in the Mini Gold Cup opener on Friday night at his home track, the Silver Dollar Speedway, Moore timed the Coors Light/Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office No. 22 machine in fastest during qualifications before racing his way to a second place finish during his heat race.

Qualifying for the nightly redraw, Moore would pull the six pill which lined his machine up in the third row of the 25-lap feature event on a surface that stayed almost too good on this night.

With passing at a premium on Friday night, Moore did what he could to pick up positions, though he was able to crack the Top-Five. The extremely fast track conditions made all drivers quick on this night, and the Princeton, CA pilot would finish fifth.

Heading over to the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA on Saturday night, Moore climbed aboard the F&F Racing No. x1 machine and went on to time in fifth fastest in qualifications.

Finishing third in his heat race, Moore would again find himself in the redraw where he would draw the seven pill and line up in the fourth row for the feature.

Battling with Andy Gregg early in the race, the duo would lose ground on the rest of the field as they exchanged the sixth spot for a handful of laps.

Once the battle with Gregg came to a head, Moore was able to track down the lead pack and get into the fifth spot. Once in fifth Moore was able to settle into a groove over the final laps as he closed his weekend with a second consecutive fifth place run.

“It’s good to be into a good groove and get back into racing shape,” Moore added. “I have been fortunate to have two good cars all year long so far so it has made it a nice start to the season for us.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.

ON TAP: Moore will venture back to the Placerville Speedway this Saturday night.
