PETERSEN MEDIA- Opting to use his Civil War Series mulligan on Saturday night, Matt Peterson checked in at the Placerville Speedway for their Placerville Posse event, and went on to work his way forward to a fifth place finish.

“Placerville has never really been a strong track for me, so it was nice to go up there and get our car working well there, and get a good finish,” Matt Peterson said.

21 cars checked into the exciting bullring speedway on Saturday night, and Peterson got off to a mediocre start, as he timed the Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Company No. p37 machine in 13th fastest.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the driver known as Miller Time, was up on the wheel as he carved his way forward to score a second place finish as he and his team tried some new things on this night.

The 25-lap feature event put the Wilton, CA pilot in the sixth row for the 25-lap feature event, and he would go on to work his way forward, as he clicked off some strong laps on the tricky ¼ miles speedway.

Patienly working his way forward, Peterson would battle with the likes of Andy Gregg, Steven Tiner, and Greg DeCaires at times, as lapped traffic came into play often on this night.

When the checkered flag flew on the race, Peterson had worked his way forward to secure a fifth place finish at the stripe.

“Our night did not start off great, but there was a lot of moving forward, and that is a good feeling,” he added. “I have to thank Brian Cannon and my family for all of their hard work, and hopefully we can get even better this coming Saturday night.”

Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, Vahlco Wheels, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2015.
