PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to California after a brief stint in the Northwest, Robbie Price took on the King of the West Series at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night where an up and down night saw the Cobble Hill, BC driver finish in the 14th spot.

“It certainly wasn’t our greatest night but we had speed during parts of the night,” Robbie Prce said. “We had a pretty good car in the feature, and I got near the top-10 but my brakes started fading and things got tough after that.”

Timing the Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal/Tiger Towing/Rod End Supply No. 21p machine in 14th fastest during time trials, Price would line up in the third row of his heat race.

Having a good start, Price would get into the third spot when the green flag waived, but would fall back to fourth as the field headed into turns three and four. Finishing fourth, Price would grid the field from the seventh row for the 30-lap feature event.

Needing a second push, Price would end up taking the green flag from the 22nd starting position and would have a really good start to the race. In the first 11th laps, Price was able to gain eleven positions as he found him self in the 11th spot in the running order.

Just as the race reached the halfway point, Price would feel is brakes fading out and on a track like Placerville Speedway, that would be a tall order to deal with. Doing what he could to make his car work with limited brakes, Price’s charge would halt and he would maintain as long as he could.

In the race’s closing laps, Price admittedly made an ill advised move that resulted in him getting into another car and cause both drivers to spin, forcing him to the back of the pack again.

In just a few short laps, Price would pick up a couple of positions to finish in the 14th spot.

“It is always eventful at Placerville,” Price added. “It was one of those nights where we just couldn’t string the whole thing together. Thanks to all of the guys who helped us out on Saturday night.”

Price and his team would like to thank Millstone Heating and Sheet Metal, Tiger Towing, Rod End Supply, Wildlight Photography, Shark Racing Engines, and Speedmart for their support during the 2016 season.
