Sean Becker Second at Stockton Dirt Track

PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker and Bjork Motorsports backed up a strong showing at Antioch Speedway one week ago with a seventh-place finish on Saturday night in Tulare, CA and a runner-up finish on Sunday in Stockton, CA during a NARC doubleheader weekend.

“It was a really fun weekend with the Bjork Motorsports team,” Sean Becker said. Sunday in Stockton, CA, everything was going in our favor, but a couple of costly mistakes dashed our chances of getting our first win together as a team.”

Timing the Bjork Construction backed No. 7B in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials to get the Sunday afternoon show kicked off, Becker lined up on the front row of his heat race.

Getting the jump when the action came to life, Becker worked the newly configured Stockton Dirt Track to perfection as he secured the win and moved into the all-important Dash.

Continuing to have things go in his favor, Becker pulled the two in the redraw and lined up on the outside of the front row for the Dash just as he did in his heat race. It was déjà vu for the Becker as he again got the jump from the outside of the front row and never looked back.

Racing his way to the win, Becker was locked into the pole position for the start of the 30-lap NARC feature event as he shared the front row with Billy Aton.

As the feature came to life, the outside continued to be the place to be, and with Becker on the pole, he settled into second as he chased after Billy Aton in the opening stages of the race.

On the 12th circuit, Tanner Carrick was able to get around ‘The Shark’ to put him back into third, but trouble struck on the next lap as Aton slowed to a stop in front of the field and collected Carrick and nearly Becker, but he was able to keep his machine under power.

Taking over the race lead, the ensuing restart saw Becker battle with Justin Sanders for the race lead. With Sanders getting better of the battle on the 15th lap, Becker settled into second and remained there for the rest of the race as he capped his weekend off with a runner up finish.

The weekend kicked off on Saturday night for the team as they were also in action with NARC at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.

Timing in 17th fastest in time trials, Becker made some crucial moves in his heat race as he powered from his third row starting position and improved his starting spot in the feature immensely.

When the featured event rolled around, the first two attempted starts were negated by cautions and red flags, but the third attempt proved to be the charm as the race went on to go nonstop once the green was finally displayed.

Spending much of the opening half of the race battling for position deep in the Top-10, the second half of the race saw Becker’s machine get a little more maneuverable as he could search around the Thunderbowl as the field strung out and they began to encounter traffic.

Working into ninth, just past the halfway point, Becker was up into eighth with just five to go, and quickly worked into seventh.

As he closed in on a pair of cars battling for Top-Five position, the white flag was in the air and ‘The Shark’ was out of time.

When the race came to a close, Becker came across the finish line with a seventh place finish.

“Tulare was a lot of fun on Saturday night,” Becker added. “We just got off to a bit of a slow start to the night, but by the feature we had a really fast racecar. I want to thank the Bjork family and this team for all of their hard work and continued support.”
