PETERSEN MEDIA- Coming off of a fourth place finish at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Jason Statler eyes one of the biggest races on the King of the West schedule, the Dave Bradway Jr, Memorial, that takes place this coming Saturday night.

“We made the decision to hit Chico over the last few weeks to get going the right direction, and get ready for the Bradway, and we are all very excited that weekend is upon us,” Jason Statler said.

Friday night, Statler and his DF Rios Motorsports were back in action at the Silver Dollar Speedway, and with 20 cars checked into the pit area, Statler timed the DF Rios Motorsports/Amerikote/Riley Collins Auto Body No. 00 machine in seventh fastest.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, ‘The Big Guy’ would finish second in his heat race, and miss out on the redraw, thus lining up in the fifth row for the feature event.

The early goings of the feature event saw Statler struggle to move forward as he fought a tight racecar. Staying the course, Statler would get his machine working on the high, scary side of the speedway as the race reached the halfway point.

Starting to get moving forward, Statler would crack the top five, as he raced with Willie Croft and Sean Becker. Able to get by the pair of veteran racers, Statler would battle Mason Moore for the third spot, and would take the final spot on the podium, only to the see the red flag fly, and negate his pass.

Losing a little air pressure under the stoppage, Statler would be unable to fight for the third spot, as he had his hands full with Becker for the fourth spot during the race’s final stages. Able to hold on to the position, Statler would take the checkered flag with a fourth place finish.

“We were pretty tight during the first half of the race, but once we cold get working on the top, we got pretty good from the middle of the race on,” Statler noted. “The last few weekends we have gotten better, and continued to find speed, and we are all eager to get back to the Silver Dollar Speedway this weekend.”

Jason Statler would like to thank DF Rios Motorsports, Amerikote, Riley Collins Auto Body, SCI, Kaeding Performance, Kistler Racing Engines, Simpson Race Products, Yak Graphics, Factory Kahne Shocks, Ultra Shield, Rod End Supply, Santomauro, Stephanie’s Custom Interior, and Nevada City Auto Service for their continued support.

ON TAP: Statler will return to action Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA before the King of the West Series takes over the speedway on Saturday night for the 25th Annual Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial.
