PETERSEN MEDIA: A picturesque Spring Saturday in Petaluma, CA would see Steven Tiner follow the Sprint Car Challenge Tour into town for the series’ fourth race of the 2017 season. Fighting his way through a very wild ‘B’ Main, Tiner would end up 14th during the feature event.

“The track was hooked up, and a little rough and it got pretty demanding in the car for 40-laps,” Steven Tiner said as he wiped sweat off his brow. “We had good speed, but when it’s like that it gets tricky to pass cars.”

Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious backed No. 94 machine in fifth fastest in his group during time trials, Tiner would line up fifth in his heat race.

Unable to transfer directly into the feature event, Tiner would be relegated into the semi, where he would grid the field from the eighth starting position. Before the ‘B’ got wild, Tiner would pick up a few positions as he went to work on the low side of the speedway.

With the race’s first caution breeding several more, the semi would end up getting cut short, and Tiner would move into the feature as he was credited with a fourth place finish.

Lining up in the 20th starting spot, Tiner would have his work cut out for him in the 40-lap feature event. Slowly picking up spots during the fast paced feature event, Tiner would end up finishing in the 14th spot.

“We were able to get spots, but I was mindful not to force some issues and put myself in a vulnerable spot,” Tiner added. “Again, I was pleased with how our car was, and we were able to move forward.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, B&B Racing Engines, ART, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-5, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1

ON TAP: Tiner will return to action on Friday night in Hanford, CA and on Saturday night he is scheduled to compete at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.
