Braden Chiaramonte 5th with USCS At Kern County
PETERSEN MEDIA: Piloting his family car in Bakersfield, CA on Saturday night with the USCS, Braden Chiaramonte continued to run extremely well with the non-wing series as he finished fifth in the feature event.
“The night went really well from start to finish,” Chiaramonte said. “We timed in well, and we moved forward in the feature despite the track being tough to pass on.”
Getting off to a great start to the night, the El Cajon, CA driver earned quick time honors in his qualifying which put him in the third row of his heat race. Taking the green flag from fifth, Chiaramonte was able to make some strong moves on the Kern County Dirt Track surface as he worked his way up to a second place finish.
Moving into the feature event, Chiaramonte rolled off the starting grid from the outside of the fourth row.
As the race came to life, Chiaramonte began to make his moves as he worked the top side of the speedway and climbed towards the leaders. Getting into the Top-5, the preferred groove on the track was the high side and much of the field got in line.
Running fifth, Chiaramonte took a couple of shots at fourth running Cole Wakim, but passing proved to be tougher with each lap being completed.
Being careful not to give up his spot inside the Top-Five, Chiaramonte was relentless in his efforts, but ended his night taking the checkered in fifth.
“As the race went on, it got really fast around the fence and passing got more difficult,” Chiaramonte said. “It was a good night in the family car and I am happy with a good finish.”
