PETERSEN MEDIA: Battling with High Limit Racing on Saturday night at Buter Speedway, Joel Myers Jr and Hayward Motorsports picked up a 13th place finish as they now ready for a busy week ahead.

“The track Saturday night was a bit of a tricky place, but I thought we did well for our first time there,” Joel Myers Jr said. “The High Limit Racing series always has a tough field, so it was good the race with them and learn at a new track.”

With 38 cars checked in on Saturday night at Butler Speedway, Myers Jr timed the IPC/Velocity Engineering/RPM Chassis backed No. 19H in eighth fastest in his qualifying flight, which placed him in the second row of his heat race.

Taking the green flag from the third starting position, the Sebastopol, CA driver battled with Aaron Reutzel for the third position as he slipped back to 4th. Keeping his entry well inside a transfer spot, Myers Jr’s fourth place finish put him in 16th starting position for the impending 30-lap feature event.

When the race came to life on slick surface, Myers Jr settled into 15th during the opening laps as passing was tough. Running much of the race in 15th, the youngster moved into 14th with just six laps left in the feature event.

As the remaining laps clicked off, Myers Jr capped his Saturday night off with a 13th place finish, and him and the Hayward Motorsports team now prep for a busy five race stretch with High Limit and the World of Outlaws this week.

“It was a tough track to do much on in the feature, but it was good to get a feature in with the High Limit guys,” Myers Jr added. “Thanks to all of the people who support our team, and I am excited for a busy week ahead.”
