PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending his weekend competing with Hayward Motorsports in Ohio, Joel Myers Jr recorded an eighth place finish on Friday night at Attica Raceway Park before scoring a fifth place finish on Saturday night at Fremont Speedway.

“Now that we are getting back into a groove of racing, its nice getting back to some tracks that I saw for the first time last year and have another shot at them,” Joel Myers Jr said. “It’s good to continue to show up and be competitive at places that we don’t have a ton of laps at.”

Kicking the weekend off on Friday night, Myers Jr earned fast time honors in his qualifying group aboard the Velocity Engineering/Indy Performance Composites/RPM Chassis backed No. 19 mount.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Sebastopol, CA worked his way up a spot in the eight lapper as his third place finish put him in the 11^th starting position for the 30-lap feature event.

Getting a great jump when the race came to life, Myers Jr quickly worked his way into eighth as he raced around the extremely slick Attica Raceway Park surface. Working his way into seventh on the third marker, Myers Jr was up into sixth as the race hit the halfway point.

Settling into sixth for a few laps, Myers Jr slipped back a couple of positions in the final laps as he ultimately brought the Hayward Motorsports entry home with an eighth place finish.

Heading to Fremont Speedway on Saturday night, Myers Jr continued to show speed in the ‘Buckeye State’ as he again earned fast time honors in his qualifying group before surging from fourth in his heat race and picked up the win.

Moving into the feature event, Myers Jr rolled off the starting grid from the outside of the second row for the 30-lapper. Slipping back to sixth as the field was shown the green, , Myers Jr rode outside of the Top-5 until he worked his way into fifth on the 16^th lap.

Getting into fifth, Myers Jr kept a firm grasp on the Top-Five as he continued to click off laps. Keep himself in fifth, Myers Jr capped the night off with the Top-5 when the feature event came to a close.

“We were pretty good both nights,” Myers Jr said. “Friday night we kind of faded in the feature as we got a little too free but overall it was a pretty good weekend for us.”
