PETERSEN MEDIA: After getting hit on the second lap of the Saturday ight feature event in Placerville, CA, Andy Gregg would work his way through the field to finish in the sixth spot.
“It has just been one of those years, but I really have to thank Brian, Zac, Aaron, Robert, Jonathan, and Josh for all of their hard work on Saturday night,” Andy Gregg said. “They have been busting their butts, and are a big reason we have been able to continue to race week in and week out.”
Timing the GUTS/Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Angius and Terry LLP backed No. 16 machine in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials, Gregg would place third in his heat race.
By way of his heat race finish and qualifying time, Gregg would earn a spot in the nightly redraw where the four pill would like the ARP Enterprises/Capitol Ace Hardware/New Gen Landscape mount up in the second row of the 25-lapper.
On the second lap of the feature event, Contact from another competitor would leave Gregg facing the wrong direction with damage to his racecar. Making a trip to the work area, Gregg’s GUTS Racing crew would make what repairs they could, and sent Gregg on his way.
From the back of the pack, Gregg was very patient in his pursuit to the front of the field. Working around the tight confines of the Placerville Speedway like a seasoned veteran, Gregg would find himself back in the Top-10 in what seemed like no time at all.
Still working around the famous red-clay, Gregg would get up into the sixth spot just before the checkered flag flew on the event.
“We had a really good night going and were in a good position at the start of the race, but we have just been the chosen team this year I guess,” Gregg added. “Again, I really have to thank my guys for all of their hard work and putting such a strong car under me.”
