PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking to the Placerville Speedway for the final time in 2015, Andy Gregg would pick up a second place finish in the race, netting him third place honors in the 2015 Championship Standings.
“It was a nice way to end our season at the Placerville Speedway,” Andy Gregg said. “I am extremely lucky, and thankful, to drive for Scott and Kami Russell, and I am looking forward to ending our season on a high note.”
Timing the Capitol Ace Hardware/Thompson’s Toyota/New Gen Landscape No. 14r in second fastest for the Tribute to Al Hinds, the Placerville, CA driver would then pick up a second place finish during his heat race.
Earning a spot in the nightly redraw, Gregg would pull the six-pill and line his Nail It Roofing/Carroll Russell Bookkeeping/Arnold’s For Awards machine up in the third row of the 25-lap A Main event.
From his sixth starting spot, Gregg was electrifying on the ¼ mile bullring as he was able to carve his way through the field. Able to get my Justyn Cox and Jimmy Trulli, Gregg would move into the third spot, before getting by Colby Copeland to take the second position.
Chasing after race leader, Kirt Organ, Gregg would pull up to the leader on a few occasions in the closing laps, but would just not have enough to get by him for the race win, as he would hold to finish in the second spot.
With his finish, Gregg closes the 2015 Championship Season at the Placerville Speedway with a third place finish.
“I love being able to race close to home on a weekly basis, and it feels good to have some good success at this track like I have been fortunate to have the last few years,” Gregg noted. “This year was a fun one with the Russell Motorsports team, and again, I really have to thank Scott and Kami Russell for the opportunity to drive for them all year. We still have a few races left in 2015 and I am hoping we can grab a couple of wins.”

ON TAP: Gregg will take this weekend off before heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway for the Fall Nationals on October 2nd and 3rd.
