PETERSEN MEDIA- Off of a breakout 2017 season, Cory Eliason has reached an agreement to further his career with Roth Motorsports in 2018, and Antaya Motorsports would like to wish Eliason and the Roth team the very best of luck in 2018.

“As hard as it is to lose a driver and a person like Cory Eliason, I could not be more thrilled for the opportunity that Roth Motorsports has given to him in 2018,” team owner, Larry Antaya said. “I feel it is a testament to Antaya Motorsports and the work put in by Cory, Brian Matherly, Matt Brit (Skip), and Gary Patellaro (Wood), that Cory was in the position to take the next step in his career, and for that I am very proud. I sincerely wish Cory nothing but the best of luck, and hope he does a great job with Roth Motorsports.”

Picking up five feature event wins together in 2017, and finishing third in King of the West points, the decision wasn’t easy for Eliason, but one that he thought deeply about as it gets him to the next step in his career.

“I am beyond thankful for Larry Antaya and the opportunity he gave me in 2017 driving for him and working with such a great group of guys,” Cory Eliason said. “They gave me everything they had, and let me live out a dream and do what I love night in and night out. I cannot thank Larry enough for helping put myself out there and getting me in the spotlight to be seen nationwide and get the opportunity to advance my career and now run a national schedule. I wish nothing but the best for Antaya Motorsports in 2018, as I have made the decision to move to Roth Motorsports and run an expanded schedule for Dennis and Teresa Roth. I look forward to what 2018 has to offer, and am extremely thankful and blessed to have this opportunity after a great year with Larry and his team.”

“I also have to thank Brian, Skip, and Wood for all of the long hours, hard work, and endless days of putting up with me,” Eliason said with a laugh. “They have been the best, and easiest, guys to work and race with, and I look at each one of them as family, and thank them for what they have done in my career. I know I will have all these people behind me pushing me and helping in both racing as well as life in general. There isn’t anything in this world I can do to show everyone at Antaya Motorsports my gratitude, and how thankful I am to have been able to meet and work with them. Thank you doesn’t seem like enough, but to Larry, Brian, Skip, and Wood, Thank Your from the bottom of my heart.”

With the change coming to Antaya Motorsports, the plan is still to field a car in 2018. The team is working hard to figure out what direction they will go, and will make an announcement at a later date and time.

Antaya Motorsports would like to thank Good Guys Rod and Custom Association, Fuel Curve, Fire Protection Management, Inc.,  and Kaeding Performance for their support in 2017.
