PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker and the Menne Motorsports team have been extremely fast at each and every event they have taken part of thus far in 2017. Saturday night was more of the same for the team, as Becker would transfer to the feature event via the B Main, where he would charge from 21st to finish 10th.

“For some reason qualifying seems to be my kryptonite, and I proved that yet again on Saturday night,” Sean Becker said. “Luckily thanks to the help of a few other teams we were able to make a lap at the end and still end up okay.”

Overcoming issues in time trials, Becker would end up timing the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch hay Inc. no. 75 sprinter in fifth fastest in his group, which would line him up in the third row of his 10-lap heat race.

Working into the fourth spot when the heat race came to life, Becker would battle with Colby Copeland for the third and final transfer position. Taking his shots at Copeland, Becker would finish in the fourth spot and be forced into the night’s B Main.

Lining up 10th in the ‘B’, Becker would get his elbows up on the slick ¼ mile as he worked his way toward a transfer position. Getting into the sixth spot, Becker would safely advance into the night’s 40-lap feature event, though he would find himself deep in the field as he took the green flag from the 21st starting position.

With the track continuing to deteriorate, drivers would search all over for grip and it made for exciting racing action. From the back of the pack, Becker lived up to his nickname as ‘The Shark’ quietly feasted on his competition. Picking off positions lap after lap, Becker would take the checkered flag with an extremely hard fought 10th place finish.

“I kind of felt like we were in salvage mode the rest of the night, but we were lucky enough to just sneak into the feature event,” Becker added. “The fact that we were able to pass a bunch of cars in the ‘A’, and salvage a Top-10 is a testament to how good this team and all of our supporters truly are.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, K&N, Pioneer Auto Body, and The Joie of Seating for their support in 2017.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 7, Wins- 1, Top 5’s- 5, Top 10’s- 7
