PETERSEN MEDIA- Following a couple weeks away from the Menne Motorsports No. 75 machine, Sean Becker and company didn’t seem to miss a beat during a busy weekend as the team captured a third place finish on Friday night during the David Tarter Memorial in Chico, CA and a fourth place finish with the SCCT on Saturday night in Antioch, CA.

“It was an extremely hot weekend, and my guys did a great job of giving me a great car against some pretty tough competition,” Sean Becker said.

Friday night saw the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. backed No. 75 machine check into Silver Dollar Speedway for the David Tarter Memorial.

Timing in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials amongst the 20-cars checked into the pit area, the Roseville, CA driver would finish third in his heat race and make himself eligible for the redraw.

A three-lap Dash-For-Cash with the four fastest qualifiers would see Becker finish second to Kyle Hirst. With the Dash-for-Cash having no bearing on the starting line up, Becker would draw the six pill and line up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

On a racy Silver Dollar Speedway, Becker had his elbows up as he battled with some the region’s best. Racing with the likes of Gio Scelzi, Kyle Hirst, and Bud Kaeding, Becker would cap his night with a podium finish in a race that has a close meaning to him in honor of David Tarter.

Bolting the 360 power plant in and heading to Antioch, CA on Saturday night, ‘The Shark’ would kick the night off by laying down the third fastest lap in his qualifying group which placed him on the front row for heat race action.

Winning the heat, Becker would move to the feature event where he would grid the field from the 10th starting position.

When the race came to life, Becker would quickly move forward as he was able to climb up into the sixth spot before the first caution of the night flew on the 10th lap.

Continuing to battle for a spot in the top-five when the race came back to life, a red nine laps later would bunch the field back up and a couple more stoppages by the 20th lap would see crews allowed on to the track to add fuel to their machines as Becker was now up to the fourth spot.

With the race ultimately being cut to a 25-lap affair due to the 11pm state curfew, the final five laps would see Becker get up as high as the third spot, before falling back to fourth during the final restart.

“It was a little wild on Saturday night, but it was good to get another good finish,” Becker said. “This entire team is really excited for a big event coming up on Saturday.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, K&N, Pioneer Auto Body, and The Joie of Seating for their support in 2017.
