Carson Crowned King

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night was a night Carson Macedo will remember for a long, long time. When the checkered flag flew on a wild 2015 season, Carson Macedo emerged from his Tarlton Racing entry as the second young King of the West Champion in series history.

“It is such and unbelievable feeling,” Macedo said. “I can’t thank Tom Tarlton and the entire family enough for the opportunity they provided me, and Paul Baines and my guys for giving me an awesome racecar night in and night out.”

After seeing his point lead dwindle to just three points following the Cotton Classic, Saturday night’s Tribute to Gary Patterson would be a make or break night for Macedo in his team.

Macedo came out swinging as he timed the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x machine in fifth fastest, and gave himself one point heading into heat race action.

Finishing second in his heat, Macedo would finish second in the Dash, putting him Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates backed entry on the front row of the 30-lap season finale feature event.

Entering the A with an eight-point cushion, Macedo was focused on picking up the race win, and not having to worry about points. As the race went green, Macedo settled into the second spot as Jonathan Allard raced into the early lead.

Running in the second position, Macedo hit his marks on the ultra fast Stockton Dirt Track as he soon felt pressure from Kyle Hirst for the position. Falling back to third on the ninth lap, Macedo would retake the position on a lap 11 restart.

Though he chased after Allard for the duration of the event, he could not get up to challenge for the lead, and by way of his second place finish the Lemoore, CA driver was crowned King of the West.

“To win the title in my first year running the entire series is surreal,” Macedo added. “Tarlton Racing has some amazing partners and it is great to win this for them as well. I am already looking forward to 2016.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
