PETERSEN MEDIA: Fresh off of his first win of the season, Justyn Cox had a strong weekend with both his 360ci and 410ci engines, as he picked up a pair of top five finishes while in action at the Silver Dollar Speedway and the Placerville Speedway.

“Overall it was a really good weekend for this team, and we are all pleased with how we have been running as of late,” Justyn Cox said.

Heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night for a night of 410ci racing, Cox would time his Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/Trex backed No. 31c mahine in third fastest before grabbing a second place finish in heat race action.

Pulling the vaunted eight pill for the feature event, the Clarksburg, CA wheelman would line up in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event. Cox would get off to a very strong start as the race went green as he worked his way into the fifth spot, as he set his sights on fourth running, Brad Bumgarner.

Able to work his way into fourth, Cox would go to work on Keith Bloom as he took a liking to the bottom of the speedway. As he got by Bloom by the 14th lap, Cox would challenge Forsberg for the second spot, just as the caution flew.

With Forsberg taking his line during the closing laps, Cox would search for a way around him in the race’s closing laps, but would be unable to as he settled for third.

Bolting his 360ci engine in and heading to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Cox would qualify in the ninth spot.

Lining up in the third row of his heat, Cox would finish in the sixth spot which would line him up 11th in the feature event. As the race came to life, Cox would go to work using the bottom of the speedway, as he worked his way up to the seventh spot.

As the laps clicked down, he would make his way to the top of the speedway as he worked on Jimmy Trulli for the sixth spot. Getting the position, Cox then set his sights on Mike Benson for the fifth spot.

With the white flag in the air, Cox would run side-by-side with Benson, and would finally clear him coming to the flag stand, as he closed his night with a fifth place finish.

“We were all really happy with some good runs, “ Cox said. “I think we had a little more on Saturday night, but I took too long to get to the top. I really have to thank all of my guys for continuing to work hard, and put this team in position to win.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Trex, PM Truck Repair, LRB, JRI Shocks, Konnected, Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, JRD Endeavors, VSR, ART, Axcel Race Suits, SafRacer.Com, K&N Performance, Justice Brothers, Cheetah IV Racing, E-ST Garage, Worton Designs, Manzer Motorsports,  and Tim’s Hot Rod Shop for their support in 2015!
