PETERSEN MEDIA- Back to work at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Greg DeCaires would work his way forward to finish in the fifth spot during the annual Kid’s Night celebration at the famed foothill facility.
With 17 cars on hand for the Placerville Posse Challenge finale, DeCaires would time the Dale Miller Motorsports entry in ninth fastest during qualifications. Lining up at the back of his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA driver would work his way forward to finish in the fifth spot on a lightening quick speedway.
Missing out on the feature event redraw, DeCaires would grid the field from the fifth row aboard his Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino entry for the 25-lap A Main event. With the track fast on this night, DeCaires would work around the high-banked speedway slowly working his way forward.
Running comfortably in the Top-10 during the duration of the night, DeCaires would battle young drivers, Michael Kofoid and Logan Seavey as he worked his NAAKE Suspension/A.R.T. Speed Equipment/King Racing Products machine forward. A late restart would play into the 2015 Track Champion’s favor as he would use it to work his way into the Top-Five.
Chasing after Jake Morgan and Mason Moore during the race’s closing laps, DeCaires would close Kid’s night out with his 11th Top-Five finish of the 2016 season at the Placerville Speedway.
