PETERSEN MEDIA- It is no secret that 2014 has been a brutal one for Andy Forsberg and his F&F Racing team, but it was not for a lack of effort, as bad luck seemed to greet the team more often than not, as was the case on Saturday night, when Forsberg had a driveline fail early in the feature event.
“It honestly baffles all of us,” Forsberg said regarding the teams luck during the season. “We have been fortunate in years past, but it all caught up with us this year. I really have to thank Allan, Tooch, and everyone for their continued support, and all of their hard work.”
Forsberg started his night off in quick fashion, as he timed the Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/HRP backed No. x1 machine in fourth fastest, before scoring a second place finish in heat race action.
Wavering on even starting the dash, Forsberg found himself with the one pill, and went on to win the dash, and pocket the $1000 bonus that was up for grabs, and earn the pole for the feature event.
Leading the field to the green alongside Rico Abreu, Forsberg was in his element as the Stockton Dirt Track was heavy and rough on this night. Jumping into the lead aboard his A.R.T./Wilwood/Kaizer Wheels machine, Forsberg would lead the first two laps, until things went sour on his machine exiting turn four coming to complete the third lap, and his night was over.
“The track was just my style, and I think we had a strong car,” he added. “It is just crazy the stuff that has happened all year. I have to thank everyone for all of their help and support over the season, and hopefully 2015 is a little more friendly to us.”
