Forsberg 10th During Placerville Speedway’s July 4th Event

PETERSEN MEDIA- Keeping tradition alive and continuing to race on the 4th of July, Andy Forsberg and the F&F Racing team finished 10th on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

“It was just one of those nights where we couldn’t really get going forward,” Forsberg said. “In the feature we couldn’t get going so I decided to try some weird lines and other things to see if that would work, it typically doesn’t, and I proved that on Saturday.”

With 38 cars checked in, Forsberg timed the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed No. x1 machine in fastest overall in time trials, and naturally fastest in his qualifying group.

From the second row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver would record a fourth-place finish which would transfer him into the both the 30-lap feature event as well as the Dash.

Pulling the eight pill in the redraw, Forsberg would line up eighth in the Dash before a seventh place finish put him inside the fourth row to start the 30-lap feature event.

Following a couple of early stoppages, a 24-lap green flag run would commence and Forsberg would go to work. Mired in traffic and unable to make any moves, Forsberg would start to get creative aboard the Lucas Oil/PHR/Autism Awareness machine.

Getting his wing all the way back and trying to make grip in the middle, Forsberg would still be stuck just inside the Top-10.

Hanging around the Top-10 in the race’s closing laps, Forsberg capped his 4th of July with a 10th place finish.

“Obviously with the lack of races, and with us trying some new things in 2020, we are still in early season mode as we play with different things on the car,” Forsberg said. “This week I am back in action on Wednesday night in the family car on Wednesday.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, Huggins Cams, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2020.

ON TAP: F&F Racing will return to action at Placerville Speedway on July 18th for the Mark Forni Classic.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-8, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-6.
