PETERSEN MEDIA: Competing in Central California over the weekend, Garth Kasiner would notch his 17th win of the season on Friday night at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, CA before a tough night would see him finish 12th at Lemoore Raceway.
Friday night in Visalia, CA, Kasiner kicked the night off by timing the West Hill’s Oil/CS9/Security Race Products No. 21G machine in sixth quickest in qualifying time trials.
Picking up win in his heat race, Kasiner would find himself in the second row of the 25-lap restricted class feature event. Working his way into the third spot, the lead trio would be spread out, and Kasiner would do what he could to track down the lead duo.
As the pack tightened up, Kasiner rolled the bottom to perfection as he took over the second spot just before the race’s halfway point. Continuing to make up ground in turns one and two, Kasiner eyed the race lead as the laps clicked down.
With the checkered flag looming, Kasiner was all over the race leaders bumper and was patiently waiting for the opening he needed to pounce and take the lead.
On the race’s 23rd lap, Kasiner would get the opening he needed as he pulled alongside his competitor and made his move stick getting into turn three. Lead the final laps, Kasiner went on to claim his 17th with of the season.
Traveling to Lemoore, CA on Saturday night, Kasiner would open the night up by timing the Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels machine in ninth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Winning his heat race, Kasiner would line up in the eighth starting spot for the feature event.
Working his way forward in thick traffic, Kasiner would be involved in an early spin that relegated him to the back of the pack. Doing all he could from the tail end of the 23 car field, Kasiner would rebound to finish 12th.
