PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending his weekend at Delta Speedway in Stockton, CA, Garth Kasiner would finish second on Saturday night before a rallying to a seventh place finish on Sunday night.
Opening the extremely hot Labor Day weekend up on Saturday night, Kasiner would kick things off by timing the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products backed No. 21g machine in quickest in time trials by just .004 seconds.
Running fourth in his heat race, the Five Points, CA driver moved to the feature event where the inversion would line him up in the second row for the 25-lap feature event.
When the race came to life, Kasiner would not get a good jump as he slipped back to fifth in the early laps. Searching around the speedway for the fastest line Kasiner would make up ground in the middle until an early caution flag flew.
Continuing to run in the fifth spot, Kasiner was persistent as he fought hard to move forward. Using a lap seven restart to his advantage, Kasiner would move into the fourth spot. Running the bottom in turns one and two, Kasiner could make up ground on top in three and four as he chased after the lead trio.
As the laps clicked down he would move to the top in turns one and two and build up momentum as he moved into third as a lap 13 yellow collected one of the leaders.
A late restart would see Kasiner dip back to the bottom in turns one and two as he moved into the second spot where he went on to finish.
Sunday night Kasiner would again time in well as he ended up second quickest in time trials, missing out on quick time by just .002 seconds. Finishing fifth in the heat race, Kasiner would take the green flag from the third starting position in the 25-lap feature event.
Setting into third when the race came to life, contact early in the race would get Kasiner out of shape in turns three and four, and he would be forced to the back of the pack.
From the back of the pack Kasiner was methodical as he navigated through traffic. Able to put his car on both the cushion, and down low, Kasiner would rebound and race back up to seventh at the finish line.
