PETERSEN MEDIA: Andy Gregg will be the first to tell you he’s in a funk right now. Not letting it get to him, Gregg is hopeful he can snap out of it during the final few months of the racing season after a 12th place finish on Saturday night.

“We have been struggling to find speed this year, and I am confident we can get going in the final few months of the season,” Andy Gregg said.

Checking in at his local track, Placerville Speedway, on Saturday night, Gregg timed the GUTS/Angius and Terry LLP/Capitol ACE Hardware entry in 11th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Garnering a third place finish during heat race action, the Diamond Springs, CA native would line up in the 14th starting position for the 25-lap feature event.

On an unusually rough and fast Placerville Speedway racing surface, Gregg would get off to a bit of a tough start as he fell back to 16th in the opening two laps. Not panicking, Gregg would settle in and begin working his way forward.

On a track that would see bikes and bounces as drivers tip toed around a couple of tough spots, Gregg would work his way toward the Top-10. Working hard on the ¼ mile oval, Gregg would rally and close his night with a 12th place finish.

“My guys are working hard, and we are still getting this car figured out,” Gregg said. “There are some big races coming up, and I am hoping we can put it all together and be in contention moving forward.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Angius and Terry LLP, Capitol ACE Hardware, Ice House Resort, CTL Forest Management, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Broadband Agreements, Russo Insurance, Kelly Moore Paints, Cal Pro Paint and Construction, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, and MF Inc. for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Gregg will take this weekend off before returning to Placeville Speedway on August 19th for the Mark Forni Memorial.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-15, Wins- 0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-4
