PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking on the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster in Watsonville, CA on Friday night, Seth Nunes would take a wild ride in his heat race that would leave himself and the Jim and Annette Van Lare No. 5v sidelined for the rest of the weekend.

“It was a tough night for us, and I hate that we tore up a racecar,” Seth Nunes said. “Fortunately the car and the safety equipment did it’s job, but I hate it for Jim Van Lare and the guys.”

Timing the Napa Auto Parts/Lucas Oil Products/VSR Steering Repair No. 5v machine in 22nd fastest in qualifying time trials, the Medford, OR driver would line up in the third row of his heat race.

Taking the green flag in heat race action, Nunes would head into turns one and two where his machine would launch into the air at crash hard. With the car battered and bent, Nunes would escape from the wreckage uninjured, but his weekend would come to a close.

“I just really want to thank this team for all of their hard work,” Nunes added. “I know this weekend puts more work on them, and I do hate that for them.”

Seth would like to thank Napa Auto Parts, Lucas Oil Products, VSR Steering Repair, Bianchi Farms, Cameron and Cameron Ranch & Vineyard Supply, CCI, and Awesome Racewear for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: Seth will be off this weekend before he returns to action on Friday July 29th at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA and on Saturday the 30th at the Placerville Speedway.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-19, Wins-0, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-4
