Ian Madsen and Sam McGhee Motorsports Ride Recent Momentum into Grueling Ohio Speedweek

PETERSEN MEDIA: All season long, Ian Madsen and Sam McGhee Motorsports have been pillars of consistencies with the Flo Racing All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil1. Leading the points earlier in the season, Madsen and company overcame a tough stretch in Indiana three weeks back and backed it up with a trio of second place finishes in Wisconsin this past weekend as they look to ride this wave of momentum into Ohio Speedweek.

“We have actually had a pretty good year to date,” Ian Madsen said. “We did have three four pretty tough nights during the Indiana Invasion, but the guys never flinched and stayed with it. We fell back a little in the points, but after our trip to Wisconsin, we are bac where we want to be and its going to make for a really huge Ohio Speedweek.”

Over the last week, Madsen has moved the Sam McGhee Motorsports team back into second in the standings following a fourth place run at Fairbury, followed by a trio of second place finishes at Wilmot, Plymouth, and Angell Park Speedway.

With plenty of work still to be done, Madsen’s next test is quickly approaching in the name of Ohio Speedweek.

“I am really looking forward to getting into Ohio Speedweek,” Madsen said. “It will be a great test for our team, and I think we have the potential to do some really great things over the next nine nights with eight races sprinkled in.”

Kicking off on Friday night at Attica Raceway Park, the series will travel to Fremont Speedway on Saturday before the lone day off on Sunday. Next week the slate will resume at Wayne County on Monday, Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, Waynesfield Raceway Park on Wednesday, Muskingum on Thursday, Limaland on Friday, and Portsmouth on Saturday.

“Some of these places I have ran before and had success, and some are going to be new to me,” Madsen said. “Thankful for the opportunity and looking forward to going after an Ohio Speedweek title and bringing us closer in the series Championship hunt.”
