Justyn Cox 8th at Tom Tarlton Classic with C&M Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making a rare 410ci start over the weekend, Justyn Cox would shake a little rust off as he picked up an eighth-place finish at the Tom Tarlton Classic in Hanford, CA with C&M Motorsports.

“Friday night was a lot of fun and it felt great to log some laps in a 410ci again,” Justyn Cox said. “Thanks to Josh Bates for letting us use an engine, and a big thanks to Cody and Mandi for continuing to put a very strong car on the track for me.”

Getting off to a solid start after shaking off some early rust, Cox would time the Moorefield Construction/Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber backed No. 7c entry in 10th fastest in time trials amongst the 30 cars checked in for the lucrative event.

With the track holding moisture in heat race action, passing in heat races would prove to be tough as Cox ripped around the Keller Auto Speedway to finish fifth and transfer directly into the feature event.

Though the track was starting to widen out for the 410ci feature, it was still sticky early and made for some extremely fast laps during the early goings. Taking the green flag from the 10th starting position, Cox was able to make some ground early as he would work his way up into the sixth position.

While running sixth and battling hard with some of the best in California as well as some of the toughest drivers around the country, Cox would admittedly make a couple of late mistakes that would cost him a couple of spots on track as he would still finish inside the Top-10 as he crossed the stripe in eighth.

“We got a little ‘free’ late in the race, and I made a couple of costly mistakes that saw us slip back to eighth,” Cox added. “It was a ton of fun to shake some of the rust off and get reacclimated to the 410. Again, a big thanks to Josh Bates, as well as to Cody and Mandi for all making Friday night possible.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Berco Redwood, Barry Lumber, Inc., Legacy Specialties, Inc. PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
