PETERSEN MEDIA- Missing a couple of King of the West events while competing with the World of Outlaws earlier this season, the two-time and defending series champion, Kyle Hirst is letting teams know that he is still the driver to beat as he picked up his third win with the series in 2015 on Saturday night at the Ocean Speedway.

Spending the weekend at the Ocean Speedway during the 5th annual Howard Kaeding Classic, Hirst would rebound from a 13th place finish on Friday night with the Civil War Series, to score his 14th career KWS Feature Event win on Saturday night as he added the HK Classic to a laundry list of top wins over the course of his career.

“Dennis and Teresa Roth give me a great opportunity week in and week out, and it is great to grab another win for them, and this entire Roth Motorsports team,” Kyle Hirst explained.

Saturday night at the Ocean Speedway, Hirst would time the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No. 83jr machine in 4th quickest with 29 cars checked into the pit area.

An extremely slick surface early in the night would see Hirst finish third in his heat race before working his way to a second place finish in the Dash, putting him on the front row of the 30-lap feature event.

With the track looking like it would take rubber in the early stages of the feature event, track prep crews went to work on the surface prior to the A, and did in fact accomplish their goal and preserve the race track.

As the race came to life the speedway was actually very sticky in the early goings, and Hirst rocketed to the lead and quickly began pulling away from the rest of the field.

Laying down some extremely fast lap times, the race would see the first caution flag fly on the 17th marker. Out gunning Allard on the double file restart, Hirst would continue to look comfortable up front until another caution flew on the 21st lap as the track had begun blowing off.

This restart would see Hirst feel pressure from Allard and Tyler Walker, though he would slide back up in front of Allard in turn four. Down the front stretch, the duo would continue to fight for position, and contact would ensue as the red flag was needed.

The final nine laps of the race would see Hirst keep the field at bay as he picked up his first career Howard Kaeding Classic triumph as he thrilled the crowd with an impressive set of donuts in celebration.

“This is a huge race, and one that I have wanted to win since the inaugural running of his five years ago,” Hirst added. “This whole weekend was an absolute blast, and I again have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, as well as the guys in the pits who work so hard for us.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, KW Suspension, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
