PETERSEN MEDIA- Kyle Hirst made his fulltime World of Outlaws debut with Roth Motorsports on Saturday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway, and after coming through the B Main, Hirst would finish 19th in the feature event.

“It was a tough first night,” Hirst said. “We have a great group of guys here, but I just made some mistakes.”

With rain washing out the opening night, Hirst went to work on Saturday night as he timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No. 83 machine in 26th fastest during time trials, putting him in the fifth row of his heat race.

In his first visit to the speedway since his stint with the 2010 season, Hirst would finish ninth in his heat race, and be forced to take a trip into the nights Last Chance Showdown for one final shot at moving into the night’s feature event.

Lining up in the fourth row of the 12-lap race, Hirst would get his elbows up, as he moved his machine into the sixth and final transfer position, as he earned the last starting position in the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up scratch on the field, a wreck would break out in front of the Chico, CA driver and getting a little piece of the action, Hirst would restart the race with his nose wing just a little out of alignment.

When the race came to life, Hirst would focus on hitting his marks, as he navigated around the slick Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Able to gain a few positions moving forward, the reigning King of the West Champion would close his first night on the job with a 19th place finish.

“It was not how we had hoped our first night together would go, but I am glad I got to run all 30-laps in the feature,” Hirst said. “I have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for giving me this chance with a great group of guys, and I am looking forward to three nights of racing this coming weekend.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
