PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking the reigns of the C&M Motorsports No. 7c entry on both Friday and Saturday night, Kyle Hirst would put together a great weekend as he would finish second on Friday night in Chico, CA and charge from 13thto finish third on Saturday at Placerville Speedway.

“It was a really fun weekend, and I have to thank Cody and Mandi, for asking me to drive their car,” Kyle Hirst said. “I kind of dug us a hole with my qualifying efforts on Saturday night, but it shows what kind of piece they have as we were able to move through the field. We have a couple more races scheduled and hopefully I can get them a win.”

Hirst and C&M Motorsports opened their two-night stretch up on Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway during the Tyler Wolf Memorial, and the Paradise, CA driver timed the Moorefield Construction, Inc./PT Shocks/Swartz Diesel/Alturas Tires backed entry in 11thquickest in time trials.

Picking up a heat race win, Hirst found himself on the front row of the 30-lap feature event alongside Andy Gregg. With Gregg getting the early jump, Hirst would find himself battling hard with Stephen Ingraham for the second position.

Going back and forth for position, Hirst would settle into the runner up position as traffic soon became a factor. Closing in on Gregg Hirst would then find himself in a torrid battle as Sean Becker joined the mix.

Able to split Gregg with Becker, Hirst still ran in the second position. Taking a shot at Becker late, Hirst would settle for a second place finish in his first night with C&M Motorsports.

Traveling to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Hirst would open the night up by timing in 15thfastest in time trials, before finishing fourth in heat race competition.

Finding himself mired back in the 13thstarting position, a couple of tangles before one lap was recorded would give Hirst a little help as he gained a couple of spots quickly.

When the green did fly, Hirst was on a mission, as he wasted no time moving up into the Top-5. Once in the top-five he would find himself in a battle with business partner and close friend, Steven Tiner.

Able to finally clear Tiner in the waning laps, Hirst would close in on Kalib Henry and Andy Gregg who ran ahead in first and second.

A restart with six-to-go saw the leaders get a way from him, and KH capped his weekend off back on the podium by way of his third place finish.

“It was a nice fun weekend racing with friends and having family around this weekend,’ Hirst said. “It has kind of been the theme of my season since cutting back my racing. It’s pretty cool what Cody and Mandi do for the sport in Nor Cal, and I am looking forward to our next night out.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
