PETERSEN MEDIA- Amidst an extremely strong 2018 campaign that sees them atop both the King of the West Series and Sprint Car Challenge Tour point standings, Kyle Hirst and his Roth Motorsports team are ready to embark on an extremely busy part of their season kicking off with a return to action this Friday in Chico, CA and on Saturday in Placerville, CA.
“It has been a nice little break in our schedule, but we are ready to get to work with a ton of big races in front of us,” Kyle Hirst said. “Dennis and Teresa Roth have given us a golden opportunity this year, and I am proud of what we have accomplished to date but we aren’t don’t yet. I am fortunate to race with two of my best friends every weekend and we are feeling refreshed and recharged after a little break.”
With 34 races ran thus far in 2018, Hirst and company have racked up 10 feature event wins, 27 Top-10 finishes with 25 of those being Top-Five’s. This weekend Hirst will take part in a couple of memorial races that he has been victorious at in the past (Wolfe and Forni), and will then set his sights on his first ever Johnny Key Classic triumph on August 25th in Watsonville, CA before taking on the World of Outlaws during their annual Fall West coast swing.
A busy August and September will lead into a return to the KWS and SCCT schedule where Hirst and company will look to capture both prestigious crowns and cap off their strong year.
“Our year got off to a bit of a tough start, but once we got going it has been a ton of fun,” Hirst added. “My guys work extremely hard for me, and Dennis, Teresa, Todd, and everyone associated with Roth Motorpsorts makes sure we have the tools we need to be successful and we give it our all to not let them down. This is a great time of the year in California and I am excited to test ourselves.”
