PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to progress in the new Tiner Hirst Enterprise No. 94 machine, Kyle Hirst had a very good weekend in Stockton, CA at the 2nd Annual Asparagus Cup as he highlighted the weekend with a third place finish during Saturday night’s finale.

“It feels great to get better each night out,” Kyle Hirst said. “It is a blast racing with Steven Tiner, and all of  our friends and I cannot wait to get this team our first win.”

Taking part in two nights of action at Stockton Dirt Track, Hirst would open Friday night up by earning quick time honors in his time trial group, and was the second quickest driver overall.

Heat race action saw the Paradise, CA pilot pick up a third place finish aboard the THE/GP Development/Larry Davis Farms entry. Enduring an issue that they were unable to get repaired in time for the Dash, Hirst would be scored eighth and would line up in the fourth row for the feature event.

Getting off to a nice start, Hirst would work his way forward and find himself up in the fourth position late in the race. Losing a spot on the restart, KH would end up falling back to finish sixth.

Back in action on Saturday night with a hefty sum of money up for grabs, Hirst would again get off to a nice start as he would earn quick time qualifier honors in his group before finishing third in his heat race.

Picking up a second place finish in the Dash, Hirst would take the green flag from the front row alongside Colby Copeland.

Running third in the early stages of the race, Hirst would find himself back in fourth at one point as Tim Kaeding was able to sneak by him for the last spot on the podium.

Keeping his wits, Hirst would work around the slick speedway and would power his way by Colby Copeland as he zeroed in on Kaeding who was now in second.

Racing in heavy traffic, Hirst would be unable to get to Kaeding to challenge for the position, as he capped his Asparagus Cup with a third place finish.

“We fought some little issues all weekend long, but we are getting everything ironed out and really gaining on it,” Hirst said. “Big thanks to all of the people who help us out, and all of the guys who bust their butt’s at the track.”

Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Larry Davis Farms, GP Development, Wright Process Systems, Fisher Racing Engines, SRP, Wilwood, XYZ Machine, DMI, HRP, Sway Away, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Sway Away, Schoenfeld, Warehouse Paint, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.
