Kyle Offill Uses Late Race Magic to Record Second Win of Season

PETERSEN MEDIA: Having a little bit of bad luck early in Saturday night’s feature event in Antioch, CA, Kyle Offill was able to shake it off and use some last lap heroics to score his second win of the 2017 season.

“We have been faced with some bad luck the last couple of weekends, and I thought we had more of the same on Saturday night,” Kyle Offill said. “Luckily we were able to get going from the back of the pack and grab the win on the last lap.”

Checking in at Antioch Speedway on Saturday night, Offill would get his night started off on the right foot as he was able to pick up the win aboard the Ochoco West/Boise Cascade/Reliable Lumber entry during heat race competition.

Moving into the feature event, Offill would see the bad luck bug get him again as early contact would force him to the back of the pack. Though frustrated, the Tracy, CA driver would remain calm under the helmet, as he would pick up lost track position one lap at a time.

Getting into the second late in the race, Offill wanted more as he closed in on the race leader. With the white flag in the air, Offill closed the gap even more, and was able to make his winning move out of turn four as he took the checkered flag for the second time in what was just his 10th start in a winged 360.

Friday night Offill was also in action aboard the Maas Brothers Powder Coating/TMAC Motorsports/Offill Family Farms No. 2k machine, as he made his debut at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA.

Timing the Team KO Racing No. 2k machine in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials, Ofill would finish second in his heat.

Moving into the 30-lap feature event, Offill would grid the field from the fifth row aboard the Golden Lumber, Inc./California TrusFrame/Lord & Sons, Inc. machine. On a slick surface that worked up to a curb, Offill would acclimate during his first visit to the speedway as the laps moved on.

Racing with a strong contingent of Ocean Speedway veterans, Offill would take a liking to the cushion as he raced around the slick ¼ mile speedway.

Turning in some impressive laps while running the high, scary side, Offill would cap his first ever appearance at the Watsoville, CA facility with an eighth place finish.

“I have to thank Brad, and my family for their hard work,” Offill said. “I felt pretty comfortable at Ocean Speedway for my first time there, and we were able to get a nice finish out of it.”

Team KO Racing would like to thank Ochoco West, Boise Cascade, Reliable Lumber, Maas Brothers Powder Coating, TMAC Motorsports, Offill Family Farms, Golden State Lumber, Inc., California TrusFrame, Lord & Sons, Inc., B&S Hacienda Auto Body, Country Builders Construction, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, HRP, and Bacchetti Hay Service for their support this year.
