Lightening Fast Allard Slowed With Mechanical Woes

PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of an opening night win two weeks ago, Jonathan Allard and his Porter Group/Hydraulink/Motul team returned to the WXC Speedway for Heritage Shield Night only to have engine woes end their night early.

“We were bad fast all night long, and it was a bummer to have issues,” Allard said. “We have great supporters down here, and we will get fixed, and be back at the track.”

Persistent weather on Saturday night made for a bad-fast racetrack, but the WXC Speedway staff made the best of it, as fans were still treated tow multiple groves of racing.

Lining up sixth in his opening heat race, Allard worked into the fourth spot, before he got around Michael Pickens to finish third, before making a late race move on Jamie Duff in his second heat to score the win, and earn high-points for the second race in a row.

With the four pill being drawn for the invert, Allard lined his New Zealand Ceiling and Drywall/Exide/BDR Max backed No. 0 machine up in the second row for the 20-lap main event.

Making quick work of the first row in the opening laps, Allard surged into the lead, and looked like the car to beat in the early goings, until things went horribly wrong.

Out in command of the race, Allard’s machine slowed, and he pulled into the infield, giving up his lead, with issues under his hood, and his night was over.

“I have to thank my guys for their continued hard work,” he added. “We have been really fast out of the gate these first two night, so that is reassuring, for sure.”

Allard would like to thank Porter Group, Hydraulink, Motul, New Zealand Ceiling and Drywall Supplies, Exide, and BDR Max for their support.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-64, Wins-13, Top 5’s-30, Top 10’s-42.

ON TAP: Allard will be back in action on Saturday night at WXC Speedway.
