PETERSEN MEDIA- Committed to running with the USAC National Midgets in 2016, Carson Macedo made what will be a rare start with the Tarlton Racing team on Saturday night as he recorded a 10th place finish with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ at the Thunderbowl Raceway.
“It’s no secret, it was a tough track to do much on, and I just stayed out of trouble and we were able to get a good finish out of it,” said Carson Macedo. “It was awesome to get back in the Tarlton Racing car and take on the World of Outlaws.”
Timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x machine in 11th fastest in his qualifying flight, Macedo was able to work his way forward from his sixth starting spot in his heat race to finish in the fifth position, and transfer directly into the A Main event.
With the track extremely fast and hooked up after storms pounded the area in the days leading up to the race, Macedo lined up in the ninth row focused on hitting his marks and being patient.
As passing was extremely tough all night long, Macedo was able to get a couple of positions when the race got underway as he worked his way forward. Able to avoid a lap 15th pile up that happened in front of him, Macedo would benefit significantly as he found himself near the Top-10.
Picking up a couple of positions during the closing laps, Macedo would bring the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates backed entry home with a 10th place finish.
“I can’t thank the Tarlton’s enough for allowing me to come out and have some fun and drive for them over the weekend,” Macedo added. “I am very thankful for everything they have done for me the last few years, and I hope they continue to have success in 2016.”
