PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the scene of his World of Outlaw win, Carson Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team invaded the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night with the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series as they took part in the Mini Gold Cup.

“Qualifying is everything with these guys, and I did not time in well on Saturday night, and again put us in a huge hole,” Macedo said.

With 44 cars checked in for the event, Macedo timed the WFO Apparel/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x machine in 22nd fastest during time trials.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Lemoore, CA driver would work his way up to the fourth spot, but he would get his right rear over the edge of the track in turn four, and contact with the wall and fence caused damage to his entry, forcing him to retired from the heat.

Macedo’s Tarlton Racing crew worked feverishly in the pit area to get his machine put back together, and they did just that as he was able to make the call for the Las Chance Showdown, where he would line up in the sixth position.

On the extremely slick Silver Dollar Speedway, Macedo was very strong as he carved his way forward to pick up a second place finish, and transfer into the night’s 40-lap feature event.

Lining up 19th in the finale, track conditions made it tough on most guys to move forward, and that was the case for Macedo. The extremely slick track began taking rubber, and passing was ultimately at a premium. Running an extremely smart race, Macedo would pick up a few positions, and close his night out with a 15th place finish.

“I have to thank all my guys for all of their hard work after my heat race mistake, and working hard to give me a car to move forward in,” he added. “I also have to thank the Tarlton’s for this opportunity, as well as the great companies that support us.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., WFO Apparel, Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.

ON TAP: Macedo will head to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night to take on the King of the West Series.
