PETERSEN MEDIA- Putting together a Midget to run over the winter months with Carson Macedo, Tarlton Motorsports made their first start of the season over the weekend in Arizona as Macedo finished fifth on Friday night before mechanical issues cut Saturday night short.

“Aside from our engine issues on Saturday, it was a great weekend, and I had a ton of fun,” Carson Macedo said. “The cool part about what we are doing with this car is that everyone involved in it is a tight group of friends and it makes it that much more fun. I am extremely thankful to have Sean Dyson, Tommy and Tom Tarlton, Paul Baines, Tyron Tyra, and Justin Insley in my corner making this venture possible.”

Making their debut together with the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series on Friday night, Macedo got off to a great start as he timed the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions/King Chassis No. 21 machine in sixth fastest in time trials.

Running fifth in his heat race, the 2019 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year would transfer into the 30-lap feature event where he rolled off the starting grid in the eighth starting position.

On a very slick racing surface, Macedo quickly re acclimated himself to a midget as he hung right with the stars and cars of the USAC series. Keeping his machine up front, Macedo closed the team’s first night out together with their new car in the fifth position.

Back for more on Saturday night, Macedo got his night off to an even better start as he stopped the clocks with the second fastest lap of the night in time trials.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, the Lemoore, CA driver would have to make a trip to the ‘B’ for one final shot at transferring to the ‘A’. Finishing third, Macedo would take care of business, but issues arose under the hood of his car.

Having an engine expire, Macedo would be unable to keep his night going as his team would be sidelined with issues.

“It was unfortunate to have our weekend end like that, and it looks like it is going to force us to miss the Hangtown 100 this week,” Macedo said. “We are trying to find something, but for now we will look to get our engine fixed and ready for Turkey Night. Again, huge thanks to all the great people who support me and have made this all possible.”

Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2019 season.

ON TAP:Tarlton Motorsports will be back in action next week at Ventura Raceway for Turkey Night.
