PETERSEN MEDIA- Putting a tough Friday night behind them, Mason Moore and the F&F Racing team came out swinging during Saturday night’s Fall Nationals finale as Moore was able to advance from 18th to finish 12th on a rubber down surface.

“Friday night we didn’t get timed in well and we played catch up all night,” Moore said. “We got through the C, but lining up for the B we broke and that was that. Saturday night we transferred through the heat and moved forward to finish 12th.”

Timing in 20th quickest in his time trial flight on Friday night with 57 cars checked into the pit area, Moore would find himself in the 10th starting spot of his heat race. Able to pick up a couple of positions aboard the Geico/Econo Lube-n-Tube & Brakes/Twisted Team machine, Moore would finish eighth which would put him in the ‘C’ main.

Lining up sixth in the ‘C’, Moore would have his work cut out for himself as only two drivers would move into the B. Getting his elbows up on the tricky surface, Moore would carve his way forward and finish second and his night would continue on.

Making quick adjustments before the ‘B’, Moore would get on the gas for the pre race hot lap but something didn’t feel right and he would pull to the work area. With the part failure being terminal,  Moore would push back to the trailer and the team would regroup for Saturday’s finale.

Timing in 15th quickest on Saturday night, Moore would take advantage of a racy surface in heat race action as he was able to advance to fifth after starting eighth with was good enough to put him directly into the 40-lap feature event.

With the track taking rubber in the support division feature events, track prep would take place prior to the final ‘A’ of the night. Lining up 18th, Moore would take advantage of a racy surface in the early goings of the race as he was able to get up into the 12th spot.

As the laps clicked off, rubber would go down on the top groove and continue to work across he surface making the racing single file. Hanging on to the 12th spot, Moore would close out the 2017 season at Silver Dollar Speedway in that position.

“I have to thank the guys for working hard all weekend,” Moore said. “Time trials really were not kind to us either night, but we fought hard and made a little bit of noise on Saturday.”

Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Moore and the F&F Racing team will be off a couple of weeks before returning to action Oct. 19-21 for the 2017 Trophy Cup.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-29, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-8.
