PETERSEN MEDIA- Ohio Speedweek has been plagued with rain, and after six nights, only three races have been run, but all in all James McFadden feels good about how his team is performing.

“I think in the three races we are running well, and moving forward,” he said. “I am feeling really good about Eldora, and am really trying to figure these tracks out as quickly as I can.”

With Friday, Monday, and Tuesday all being rained out, McFadden has been in action at the Eldora Speedway, Waynesfield Raceway Park, and the Atomic Speedway.

Saturday night at the Eldora Speedway, McFadden timed his All Star Performance/Red Line Oil/Hoosier Tire entry in seventh fastest, putting him in the heat race inversion.

In a tough heat, McFadden was unable to transfer directly to the feature event, but earned a spot through the B main.

Lining up 13th in the A, ‘J-Mac’ was able to feel out the speedway and get used to the high banks, and running the wall, as he clawed his way forward to a 10th place finish.

“Eldora was a decent night for us,” he said. “With a couple of big races coming up for us in the future at that track, I am really feeling comfortable there.”

Sunday night at the Waynesfield Raceway Park, McFadden simply had a tough night as he timed the Gaerte Racing Engines/XYZ Machining/Shepherd’s Chevrolet entry in 25th fastest.

In heat race action, McFadden was really good early, as he was able to work his way up to a transfer position only to see his entire night come to a close when a spinning car collected him, causing extensive damage.

“It was really disappointing to have our night end like it did at Waynesfield,” he added. “I really enjoyed the track, and we had a car that was racing very well.”

After the Monday and Tuesday rainouts, McFadden and his JG Racing team were back in action at the Atomic Speedway, where he kicked his night off by timing in 26th fastest against the 62 cars that were in attendance.

Lining up 23rd in the feature event, McFadden had his elbows up as he flew around the speedway picking up positions at will.

Taking advantage of a few caution flags, and restarts, McFadden was able to work his way up to an 11th place finish at the stripe.

“Atomic was a pretty tough track to pass on and we are all really happy with the run we had from 23rd,” he said. “With that many cars (62) entered in the race, I was happy to get through my heat and then run so well. It has been an odd week with the weather, but I have to thank all the guys for working so hard. Hopefully we can string together three really good runs to close this thing out.”

James and the JG Racing team would like to thank All Star Performance, Red Line Oil, Hoosier Tire, Gaerte Racing Engines, XYZ Machining, Shepherd’s Chevrolet, SST, Brodix, Comp Cams, Diamond Pistons, Dyer’s Rods, Kinsler Fuel Injection, Astro Titanium, Fibertec, DMI, Brown and Miller, Cool Chassis, Barnes Oil Pumps, and www.sprintcarworld.com.au  for their support.
