PETERSEN MEDIA- For the second week in a row, Michael Faccinto and F&F Racing picked up a top five finish. Leading the feature event early in Marysville, CA on Saturday night, Faccinto and company put together a good run during their first start of the season at the ¼ mile facility as they finished fifth.

“Marysville isn’t exactly my favorite place, and I don’t have a ton of laps there, and to come away frustrated with a Top-Five is a good thing because that just means we were really good,” Michael Faccinto said. “These F&F Racing guys continue to work hard, and I’m hoping we can be in the mix at the Bradway Memorial this weekend.”

With 29 cars on hand at Marysville Raceway, Faccinto kicked the night off by timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Precision Civil Engineering backed No. x1 in second fastest in his qualifying group.

Finishing fourth in his heat race, Faccinto had his qualifying time to fall back on as that gave him entry into the High Sierra Industries Dash, where the one pill put him on the pole.

Leading the field to green in the six-lap shootout, Faccinto hooked up in an entertaining bout with Andy Forsberg. Fending off Forsberg, the Hanford, CA driver picked up the win and earned the right to lead the field to green for the 35-lap finale.

Getting the jump when the green lights were displayed to the field, Faccinto got off to a good start as he paced the field despite a slew of early stoppages.

A lap seven restart saw Forsberg hang with him and get around him on the exit of turn two as he slipped back to second. Another restart saw Shane Golobic drop Faccinto back to third as the trio mixed it up on the racy surface that was on display Saturday night.

Racing hard, Faccinto would soon hook up in an entertaining battle with Justyn Cox as they raced for the final spot on the podium. In the closing stages of the race, Faccinto slipped to fifth.

Holding his position in the top-five, Faccinto capped the night off with a fifth place finish.

“We mixed it up with the leaders for most of the race after we got passed, and I felt pretty good,” Faccinto said. “We continue to get better, and I’m looking forward to two nights at Placerville Speedway this weekend.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Precision Civil Engineering, Roseville Precision, Lucas Oil, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Sacramento Battery Company, PitStopUSA, FVP, CRV Carbon Solutions, American River Overhead Door, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Michael Faccinto will follow the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to Placerville Speedway on Friday night, and will then take on the NARC/KWS on Saturday night also at Placerville Speedway during the new two-day Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.
